Thai opposition leader Pita claims victory, says ready to be PM
Thailand's progressive Move Forward Party (MFP) claimed victory in the country's election Monday after a result that decimated military-backed parties that have ruled the kingdom for nearly a decade.

Voters in Thailand were heading to the polls on Sunday in an election touted as a pivotal chance for change, eight years after incumbent Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha first came to power in a 2014 coup. He is now running against the daughter of the politician who is the military's top nemesis.
New Democracy leadership elections postponed
The Central Election Committee of New Democracy decided unanimously to postpone the elections for the new leader of New Democracy.
The decision was taken due to the technical problems encountered which could not be solved today. The online system for registering the voters did not work in any of the 833 polling stations.
