“We prefer not to delve into these ideas yet. We await a response, likely by today (Friday) or tomorrow morning (Saturday),” Hamdan emphasized.

A U.S.-backed proposal for a ceasefire and hostage deal between Israel and Hamas appears to be in limbo, with neither side yet publicly committing to the current plan for a Gaza deal amid demands for changes.

The UN Security Council has adopted a resolution calling for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. With 14 votes in favor and 1 against, the American proposal for a truce between Israel and Hamas was approved. The resolution supports Joe Biden's peace proposal, which Washington claims has already been accepted by the Israeli side.
