The Ministry of Infrastructure has left open the possibility of building side tolls at Varibobi and Agios Stefanos on the Athens-Lamia national road, as well as frontal tolls at the exit to Halkida, but only if "hybrid" (i.e. pay-by-the-mile) tolls are created.

Free-flow tolling on TEM link roads in Istanbul
In a new step aimed at relieving traffic conjestion in Istanbul, the toll booths on the link roads leading to the TEM highway will be removed and replaced by an open-road tolling system to provide safer and faster passage, the transport minister has announced.

Bulgaria: Toll System Cameras Unusable for Speeding Tickets Until Mid-2024
The utilization of toll system cameras for speeding fines faces a delay until mid-2024, Minister of Regional Development Andrey Tsekov revealed. In response to queries from MP Hristo Terziyski, Tsekov clarified that drivers cannot presently be fined for speeding based on these uncertified cameras.
Toll prices to shoot up at the start of the new year
Toll prices }will be hiked by an average of 7-7.5% as of January 1, according to the new rates published by the six operators of Greece's national highways, in line with an agreement with the Infrastructure Ministry.
This means, for example, that the Athens - Thessaloniki trip for a regular sized family car will increase by 2.20 euros to €33.55.
Drivers stuck for hours on Athens-Corinth motorway after fuel truck catches fire
Long lines of cars formed on the Athens-Corinth motorway in southern Greece with travellers returning from a long weekend trapped for hours in their vehicles after police closed traffic on both directions to contain a fire that broke out on a fuel truck on Thursday afternoon.

Slovenian motorway tolls going up
Driving on Slovenian motorways will cost more starting from 15 June after the government confirmed a 6.8% increase in tolls for all vehicles other than lorries. This will be the first toll increase in ten years.
The annual e-vignette for cars will cost €117.50, up from €110 at present. The monthly vignette will go from €30 to €32 and the weekly one from €15 to €16.

No tolls for private vehicles on election weekend
All Greek highways will be toll-free on Sunday for private vehicles and motorcyclists, making it easier to get to and from polling places.
From midnight Saturday to 8 a.m. Monday, there will be no tolls.
