Topkapı Palace opened to night visitors
Istanbul's Topkapı Palace, affiliated with the National Palaces Department, opened its doors at night for the first time on June 30 to visitors.
The palace will be open every Saturday night between 9 and 11 p.m. and visitors will have the opportunity to tour the palace in two groups.

Restoration efforts at Ottoman marvel in Istanbul comes to end
Restoration works at Topkapı Palace, a peerless marvel that has been home to the Ottoman dynasty for more than 400 years in Istanbul, are about to finish soon.
The efforts have been continuing since 2019, and when they are finished, visitors will be able to see the Fatih Mansion, which was one of the most visited sections in the palace.
Piri Reis’ world map on display at Topkapı Palace
A world map drawn by the famous Ottoman admiral, cartographer and sailor Piri Reis in 1513 has been put on display once again at Istanbul's Topkapı Palace after a long break. The map on display is among the most important and interesting artifacts that have survived from the age of discoveries. The visitors' interest in the exhibition is reported to be quite intense.

Filiz Çağman, famous Turkish historian, dies at 81
Turkish historian Filiz Çağman, one of the world's leading experts on manuscripts and miniature art, died on Jan. 11 at the age of 81.
Retired in 2005, Çağman worked for 41 years at Istanbul's Topkapı Palace, one of the most famous landmarks of Istanbul that once housed Ottoman sultans while the city was the capital of the empire.

Turkish Culture Ministry restoring Istanbul's ancient city walls
The Turkish Culture and Tourism Ministry will restore part of Istanbul's ancient city walls surrounding Topkapı Palace with a budget of 25 million Turkish Liras ($5.1 million), as they have been become a crime scene for illegal activities for many years now.
Ancient Quran returns to Topkapı Palace
A 15th century Quran written by the calligraphist Sukrullah Khalifah was returned to Istanbul's Topkapı Palace Museum on May 24.
