PM says Greece will ramp up speed of Covid-19 vaccinations
Greece's prime minister says his country will ramp up the speed of its coronavirus vaccination drive.
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said Friday that Greece is aiming to vaccinate about 8,000 people or more per day compared to the current 5,000 per day.
He mentioned the goal on Friday at the start of a government meeting on Covid-19.

Bulgaria to Receive 1 Million Pfizer Vaccines and 500,000 Moderna Doses by July
The Ministry of Health published an estimate of the expected amounts of COVID-19 vaccines month by month.
It is clear from the schedule that by July this year our country has to receive a total of 1,000,000 doses of the Pfizer/ BioNTech vaccine and 500,000 doses of Moderna.
Turkey seeks access to more doses of BioNTech vaccine
Turkey is seeking to increase the amount of COVID-19 vaccine the Germany-based BioNTech company developed jointly with Pfizer it will receive, Health Minister Fahrettin Koca has said.
The minister held a videoconference with Professor Uğur Şahin, CEO and co-founder of BioNTech, to explore the prospects.
Turkey finalizes deal for 50 mln doses of COVID-19 vaccine
Turkey's health minister announced late on Jan. 7 that an agreement for 50 million doses of a COVID-19 vaccine was finalized at the first meeting this year of the Science Committee.
"As of today [Thursday], we have finalized an agreement for 50 million doses of an inactive vaccine and received the first dispatch of 3 million doses," Fahrettin Koca said in a press statement.
Anti-COVID vaccination campaign / 17,846 people, immunized in last 24 hours, 76,400 in total
The national committee for coordinating the anti-COVID vaccination informs that in the past 24 hours there were 17,846 people immunized with the Pfizer BioNTech vaccine, against the coronavirus, according to the data shared by the National Institute of Public Health, through the National Electronic Vaccination Register application.
Less than 2.000 newly infected
There are 229 patients on respirators in hospitals across Serbia, and 6.311 are hospitalized.
In the last 24 hours, 8.845 people were tested for coronavirus in Serbia.
Out of 1.787 new cases of coronavirus confirmed in Serbia in the last 24 hours, the most are in Belgrade, 545.

EU may soon approve new use of Pfizer vaccine increasing doses by 20%, says source
The European drugs regulator could soon give the go ahead for an extra sixth dose to be extracted from Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine vials, an EU official told Reuters on Wednesday, lifting the number of available shots at a time when supplies are short.
Putin and Merkel Discuss Possible Joint Vaccine Production
German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Russian President Vladimir Putin has discussed possibilites for closer cooperation in the coronavirus pandemic situation. The two leaders are said to have discussed possible ways of jointly producing vaccines during a phone call.
The health ministries of thw two countries will continue the talks on the matter together with exeprts.
Serbia Starts Vaccination with the Russian Vaccine
Vaccination against the coronavirus with Russia's Sputnik V will begin in Serbia on January 5, state oficial Mirsad Djerlek told reporters on Monday.
"During this week, 2,400 doses of Russia's Sputnik V vaccine will be used. Most likely, the first batch of this vaccine will be used tomorrow," Djerlek was quoted by Tanjug news agency as saying.
