Trans-Anatolian gas pipeline

Türkiye now has the infrastructure to receive natural gas beyond its domestic needs, positioning the country to emerge as a regional energy hub, Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar has announced.

Türkiye and Azerbaijan have reiterated their vow to further deepen their ties, especially in the fields of energy, transportation and the defense industry, during President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's first overseas visit since the parliamentary and presidential polls.

President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vui, and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, visited the works on the construction of the Serbia-Bulgaria gas interconnector.

The capacity of the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) will be doubled, Energy Minister Fatih Dönmez has announced.

The Greece-Bulgaria gas interconnection (IGB) has started test gas supplies, the project company ICGB AD told Trend news agency.

"We have started test deliveries with real quantities of natural gas, as planned. However, this is not the beginning of commercial exploitation," the ICGB said.

Natural gas supply testing from Iran to Turkey has started in limited quantities, which will alleviate natural gas cuts to the country's industrial sector from Jan. 31, Turkey's national pipeline operator Botaş has said.

Turkey and Montenegro have agreed to make additional efforts to increase bilateral trade volume to $250 million by 2022, Perisa Kastratovic, Montenegro's ambassador to Ankara, said yesterday.

He called on Turkish investors to grab opportunities in the southern Balkan country in an online meeting with a group of Turkish journalists.

A cooperation and handover agreement for the Fier South gas facility was signed between Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) AG, the Albanian Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, and Albgaz Sh.a., a statement from TAP said on July 7.

TAP will design, procure and construct the gas exit point with a multimillion Euro investment.

Turkey will kick off Antalya Diplomacy Forum on June 18 in the southern province of Antalya where world leaders and dozens of foreign ministers as well as prominent diplomats, academics and journalists will convene for several discussions.
