Since the beginning of the year, Facebook deleted 5.4 billion fake accounts, the company announced.
"We have improved our ability to detect and block attempts to create fake, abusive accounts," the internet firm said in its latest transparency report.

Twitter says Serbia asked for information about 40 users
From January 2015 to June 2017, the government of Serbia has requested information about Twitter 40 users, the US company's transparency report shows.
The report was carried by the Center for Investigative Reporting of Serbia (CINS) on its website, the agency Beta said on Monday.

Turkey remains top of Twitter's global censorship list, according to the latest Twitter Transparency report published on March 21.
According to the report, Turkey issued requests to the social media company to shut down 3,076 accounts.
Turkey leads the world in twitter censorship
Twitter issues a transparency report every six months to record the amount of government requests it receives during that period, and how the company responds to them. For the first six months of 2015 Turkey leads the rest of the world with the most requests to twitter for censorship. Over 70 per cent of government takedowns came from Turkish authorities in 2015.

Turkey listed as second in government requests for data from Facebook
Turkey is second in the world in terms of the amount of content restricted on Facebook due to government requests, following India, according to the social media site's Global Government Requests Report, which includes information about content removal.
A slight increase in government requests for account data in the second half of 2014 was recorded, the report also said.
