The Athens metro stops "Syntagma" and "Panepistimio" were shut down at 10:30 on Sunday for a rally taking place at Syntagma Square over the deadly train collision accident at Tempe.

The rally is being held downtown as of 12:00 noon, and metro trains will be passing through the two stations mentioned above without stopping.

At least three major denationalization plans, each at a different stage, are being de facto postponed to the second half of this year due to the upcoming announcement of general elections.

Motorists on the Attiki Odos motorway around Athens are facing delays of up to 25 minutes due to an crash at one interchange and the deteriorating weather situation.

Traffic is particularly slow moving between the Marathon and Kifissia intersections and between the Plakentias and Kifissia junctions.

Greece's privatization agency (HRADF) has signaled an intent to prepare and push forward with international tenders for a handful of state-owned and managed assets, even over the summer season, including for the Attiki Odos tollway in the greater Athens urban area and the sell-off of another 30 percent of the Athens International Airport.
