Farmers to roll out tractors across Greece over the week
Farmers in Karditsa set the tempo on Monday for nationwide action by Greek agricultural producers protesting high taxes, rising fuel costs, crippling social security contributions and seizures of properties and assets due to overdue debts.
Farmers launch anti-austerity action with roadblock in central Greece
Farmers, who have threatened to launch their annual anti-austerity protests this week, on Monday set up their first roadblock in Karditsa, central Greece.
In comments to the Athens-Macedonia news agency, a spokesperson for the Karditsa farmers, Aris Polygenis, said the blockage signaled the beginning of protest action that will spread across the country.
Four injured after bus overturns in central Greece
Four people were taken to hospital after a bus accident on the road connecting Kalambaka and Elafi, in central Greece, on Tuesday.
No other vehicles were involved in the collision and it was not immediately known what caused the bus to overturn.
The injured passengers were being treated at the Trikala general hospital. Their injuries were not life-threatening.

Man killed when air-conditioner explodes in his office
A man lost his life when the air-conditioning unit he was trying to repair in his office, on the Trikala-Karditsa national highway in northern Greece, exploded for unknown reasons. The 51-year-old man was rushed to hospital, but died a few hours later.
