Libya's Tripoli-based prime minister Abdulhamid Dbeibah signed two deals with Türkiye's defense minister on Oct. 25, building on a 2019 agreement.

Türkiye extends mandate for troop deployment in Libya
Türkiye's parliament on June 21 extended for another 18 months a mandate that allows the deployment of Turkish troops to Libya.
The mandate was renewed with the votes of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's ruling party and its nationalist allies which hold a majority in parliament. An opposition party also voted in favor of the extension.
Turkey wants to extend stay of troops in Libya for 18 months
A presidential motion demanding the extension of the duration of the Turkish troops in Libya for another 18 months was submitted to the Parliament late on June 13.

Turkey's top diplomat has reiterated its support to Libya and underlined that the upcoming elections slated for the end of this year should be held in a free, fair and credible manner.

Turkey assists Libya rescue 123 migrants
At least 123 irregular migrants were recently rescued off the coast of Libya's capital Tripoli by the joint efforts of the Turkish military and Libyan Coast Guard, military sources said on May 2.

Turkish foreign minister, UN envoy talk Libya
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu on March 2 met with Jan Kubis, the special U.N. envoy for Libya, in the Turkish capital Ankara.
Çavuşoğlu said on Twitter that they discussed recent developments in the intra-Libyan political process and the formation of a new interim government.
"Our support to ensure stability in brotherly Libya will continue," he added.

Turkish president congratulates Libya interim gov't leaders
Turkey's president congratulated the leaders of Libya's interim government in a phone call on Feb. 6.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan wished success to Mohammad Younes Menfi and Abdul Hamid Mohammed Dbebibeh, who have been elected as head of the Presidential Council and prime minister, respectively, according to a statement by the Turkish Presidency.
Turkish parliament approves Libya troops motion
The Turkish parliament on Dec. 22 approved a motion calling for an extension in troop deployment in Libya for another 18 months.
While the ruling AKP, and the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) backed the motion, the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), and Good (İYİ) Party voted against it.
