Today, Veliko Tarnovo is center of the celebrations dedicated to the 113th anniversary of the proclamation of the Independence of Bulgaria. The celebration started with a liturgy in the church of "Sts. Forty Martyrs." The military ritual of raising the national flag of Bulgaria was held in the Tsarevets Fortress.
38 Streets and the Square in the Old Town of Veliko Tarnovo Were Repaired
With BGN 11 million Veliko Turnovo Municipality renovated 38 streets and the square in the old town. The ,,Samovodska charshiya'' has a new stone pavement and near the Tsarevets fortress there is a parking lot for nearly 100 cars and a tourist bus.
Shortage of Nurses in Veliko Tarnovo
A serious problem in Veliko Tarnovo - a shortage of nurses. After a year, more than 15 nurses will be retiring and there are no willing to stand in their place, reports the Bulgarian National Television.

Rare Gold Coin Was Discovered in Burgas District
A rare gold coin from the time of the Byzantine Emperor Phocas was discovered during excavations at Rusokastro Fortress, which is located on a hill near Zhelyazovo village, in Burgas district in southeastern Bulgaria, quoted by the Bulgarian National Television.
The find proves that the fortress was active in the 6th century, the archaeological team commented.
