Veselin Mareshki, the entrepreneur-turned-politician, has said his newly set up party will be the big surprise of the snap general poll.

"We continue fighting the fuels cartel, since it is the cartel plundering the state in the worst way," the pharmaceutics boss with several fuel stations in his hometown Varna has told the Bulgarian National Radio.

Bulgarian right-wing party the Reformist Bloc makes its final efforts on Monday to form a new government within the current parliament together with potential coalition partners from the leading centre-right party GERB and the nationalist Patriotic Front coalition, the PF.

Bulgaria is clearly going down a path of pro-European development and does not consider abandoning it, President-elect Rumen Radev has said in an interview.

The decision of the Central Election Commission for the nomination of a president and vice president of Bulgaria will be presented on Monday in Parliament.

The government stepped down earlier this week, following the presidential election results which determined socialist opposition-backed Rumen Radev as Bulgaria's next President-elect.

The Central Election Commission has announced the final results of the presidential elections.

The data shows that 2,063,032 or 59.37% of the voters voted for the tandem Rumen Radev - Iliyana Yotova.

The candidate presidential tandem Tsetska Tsacheva - Plamen Manushev received 1,256,485 or 36.16% of the votes.

 "The group is backing me. I will not tender in my resignation," stated the chairwoman of Parliament Tsetska Tsacheva to journalists, reported BGNES.

Pro-Russian presidential candidates in Bulgaria and Moldova have been elected for the top posts in the two separate elections held on Nov. 13, results showed. 

The new political project of Radan Kanev will seek the support of the voters from the right spectrum who voted for Rumen Radev. Тhis was announced by Atanas Atanasov - member of Democrats for Strong Bulgaria (DSB) during an interview on private Nova TV.

Bulgaria's centre-right Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, submitted his resignation to parliament on Monday, after a left-wing opposition candidate defeated his nominee in the presidential election.

An emergency vote in parliament on his decision to step down is expected on Tuesday.
