Court reverses ÇED decision on power plant project in eastern Turkey valley

A Sivas administrative court has canceled a previous decision which dismissed the requirement of an environmental impact report (ÇED) for a hydroelectric power plant (HES) project planned to be built in a valley in the eastern Turkish province of Erzincan.

Bar head sentenced to six years for participation in rallies

A Turkish court has sentenced Tunceli Bar Association head U?ur Ye?iltepe to six years in jail on terrorism charges, making him the first chair of a Turkish bar association to be sentenced to prison since the 1980 military coup.
