Turkish navy thwarts Greek coast guards in Aegean Sea
The Greek coast guards harassing a Turkish-flagged merchant ship which was traveling in line with the international maritime law in the south of the Samos Island of the Aegean Sea, immediately left the area following arrival of the Turkish Armed Forces, said security sources on April 9.

Turkey launches military operation against Syrian regime: Defense Minister
The Turkish military launched Operation Spring Shield in Idlib in response to the Assad regime attack on Feb. 27, Defense Minister Hulusi Akar said on March 1.
The defense minister noted that the only goal of the operation is self-defense against the Assad regime soldiers and units that attack Turkish troops in the area.
Turkish army chief holds phone talk with US general
Turkey's army chief Yaşar Güler on Feb. 28 held a phone conversation with his U.S. counterpart Gen. Mark Milley, the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) said.
The two discussed recent developments, the TSK said in a tweet, without giving further details.
Turkish, Jordanian defense ministers meet
Turkey's Defense Minister Hulusi Akar on Feb. 26 received his Jordanian counterpart Yousef al-Huneiti, according to a statement from the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK).
Views were exchanged on bilateral and regional defense and security issues, the statement said.
Turkey's Chief of General Staff Gen. Yaşar Güler also attended the meeting.
