Turkish police raid critical media HQ, shut down live broadcast
Istanbul police used force on Oct. 28 to enter the headquarters and seize control of media outlets owned by the Koza-?pek Group, dramatically breaking into the main broadcasting room and shutting down two TV stations owned by the group.

Police used water cannon and tear gas early Oct. 28 to enter Koza ?pek Holding's media group headquarters in Istanbul to implement a court order to seize control of the holding. Police and newly-appointed trustees later entered the main control room, causing disruption in the broadcast. The broadcast briefly went off air.
Am I dismayed? No? Not at all
Turkey is fast becoming an authoritarian country. The president said it plainly, irrespective of whether the disobeying sections of Turkish society agree with it or not: Turkey has gone through a de facto system change. It is now time to go to the polling booths, cast votes according to what is expected by the "master of the nation" and legitimize it.

Police enter Koza ?pek headquarters in Ankara
Police officers forcefully entered the Koza ?pek Holding headquarters in Ankara on Oct. 27 after a court ordered appointment of a trustee panel to the holding.
An Ankara court made the ruling Oct. 26 upon the request of the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office days before the repeat general elections on Nov. 1.
