Turkey, Turkish Cyprus to discuss upcoming 5+1 format talks

Turkey and Turkish Cyprus will seek to coordinate their positions concerning the future steps to be taken for resolving the Cyprus problem before 5+1 format talks as Ankara urged the United Nations to stop relying on "a tested and exhausted process" that has failed to resolve the Cyprus dispute for "more than 50 years."

Turkish Cyprus leader to meet UN envoy, promote two-state solution

The president of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) is expected to highlight a two-state solution during a meeting with the U.N.'s special envoy to Cyprus.

According to Turkish Cypriot presidential sources, Ersin Tatar is expected to meet Jane Holl Lute on Jan. 11 at 14:00 local time.

Turkey rejects Israel’s plan to annex West Bank: Presidential spokesperson

Turkish presidential spokesperson İbrahim Kalın said on May 20 that Ankara rejects Israel's plan to annex the West Bank and called on the international community to show the same approach.
"Turkey rejects and calls on the world to reject any annexation plan by Israel. Occupation is a crime. The annexation of more Palestinian lands is a crime," Kalın said in a tweet.

Turkey won't allow 'deal of century' to threaten peace: President

Turkey will never allow the peace in the region to be disrupted by the U.S.' so-called "deal of century" Mideast peace plan, said Turkey's president on Feb. 9.

Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's remarks came in a statement he sent to the current 3rd Conference of the Inter-parliamentary Jerusalem Platform in Malaysia's capital, Kuala Lumpur.

Parliament condemns Trump peace plan

In a joint declaration, Turkey's parliament on Jan. 29 condemned the U.S.' peace plan for the Middle East.

Describing the so-called "deal of the century," as a "plan of instability and conflict," Turkish lawmakers underlined that it excluded Palestinians, "one of the two parts" of the dispute between Israel and Palestine.
