Turkey's parliament has condemned the U.S. peace plan for the Middle East, saying it is against U.N. resolutions and a two-state solution framework.

All five political parties of parliament signed a joint declaration on Jan. 29, condemning the peace plan while vowing to "stand by" Palestinians.

Turkey dismissed U.S. President Donald Trump's Middle East plan on Jan. 28 as an attempt to steal Palestinian lands and kill off prospects of establishing a Palestinian state alongside Israel.

Turkey's foreign minister urged the international community on Oct. 23 to join forces against Israel's attempts to weaken the two-state solution of Palestine.

Jared Kushner revealed new contours on May 2 of the upcoming US peace plan for the Middle East, indicating that it will pull back from longstanding mentions of a two-state solution with the Palestinians and accept Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

A two-state solution is the only wide-scale sustainable solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, a top Turkish diplomat said on April 14.

Delegates from three Balkan states attended the US embassy opening on Monday - two of which, Albania and Macedonia, had voted at the United Nations General Assembly in December to reject Washington's recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital.
