Army kills two PKK militants in Turkey's southeast

Two outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants were killed in an operation carried out by the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) in the Uludere district of the southeastern province of Şırnak. 

According to a statement released from the General Staff, the militants were planning to stage attacks on base regions near border and were killed by artillery fire on Aug. 4. 

PKK weapons, ammunition seized in Turkey's Şırnak

Security personnel seized a large number of ammunition and explosives believed to belong to the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) buried underground in the Uludere district of the southeastern province of Şırnak on June 28.

The Şırnak Governor's Office said the discovery was made upon a denunciation in a dried stream bed in a valley called "Serin" in the Andaç village. 

66 PKK militants 'neutralized' in one week: Turkish Interior Ministry

A total of 66 militants from the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) have been "neutralized" in security operations in one week, the Turkish Interior Ministry announced on April 24. 

According to the ministry, 53 militants were killed, eight surrendered and five were captured alive in some 321 ground and air operations carried out between April 17 and 24. 

Prosecutor seeks aggravated life sentence for jailed HDP MP for 'attempting to kill district governor'

A prosecutor in the southeastern Turkish province of Şırnak has sought an aggravated life sentence for Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) deputy Ferhat Encü over "attempting to kill a public official due to the public duty he is carrying out."
