Turkish Foreign Ministry praised UNESCO for adding "art of miniature" to their Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity on Dec. 16.

World Book Day, also known as World Book and Copyright Day, or International Day of the Book, is an annual event organized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to promote reading, publishing, and copyright. The first World Book Day was celebrated on 23 April in 1995, and continues to be recognized on that day.

Turkey on April 3 filed an application for the inclusion of four of its cultural values to UNESCO's intangible cultural heritage list.

Former European Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management, Christos Stylianides, was appointed global champion for education in emergencies by Education Cannot Wait (ECW), a global fund supporting education in emergencies and protracted crises.

The appointment is shared with former UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova.

On this day, November 16, we celebrate the International Tolerance Day.
