Bus Carrying 50 Belarusian Children Overturns Near Bulgaria’s Varna
Passenger bus carrying about 50 children from Belarus, has overturned Saturday on the road between Bulgaria’s Black Sea city of Varna and Ruse.
The bus has fallen into a ditch, fortunately no children were injured, BGNES reports. The accident occurred near the village of Bazan at about 7 am, Saturday.
Hemus Highway Contractor Employees Block Main Road Over Unpaid Wages
Employees of Avtomagistrali – Tcherno More, the company contractor of a section of Bulgaria's Hemus highway, have blocked the main road Sofia – Varna, Friday.
The company employees remained on the roadway for about ten minutes. Around 300 people gathered at the protest and warned that if the problem with salaries is not resolved they will protest again next week.
Bulgaria Expects 4% Increase of Russian Tourists
Bulgaria's Economy Ministry expects a 4% increase of number of Russian tourists in 2014, said deputy economy minister Branimir Botev, quoted by the Cherno More agency.
“We are seeing an increase of tourist numbers – not only from Russia, but also from Ukraine,” Botev said.

Court Sends Man For 5 Months In Prison for Stealing 7 Chocolate Bars
The Varna Regional Court sentenced a 34-year-old man to five months in prison for trying to steal seven chocolate bars from a supermarket, reports BGNES.
The culprit pleaded guilty for trying to steal chocolate at a total price of BGN 24 from a supermarket in downtown Varna.

The “Officers'” beach in Varna will remain closed at least until Monday, reports Darik Radio.
“This is when the test results of the sea water will come out,” said Dr. Veselina Bozhilova of the Regional Health Inspectorate in Varna.

Donations for Flood Victims in Bulgaria Approach BGN 2 M
The two major donation drives for flood victims in Bulgaria have gathered a total of BGN 1 816 466 as of Wednesday.
The Bulgarian Red Cross (BRC) campaign for SMS, online and bank transfer donations has gathered BGN 877 947, as of July 2. Around 800 000 BGN were donated through bank transfers and online payment systems, according to the BRC chairperson Hristo Grigorov.
