Chairman of the Romanian Olympic Committee (COSR) Mihai Covaliusaid on Friday that lately Romania has massively exported know-how, meaning the Romanian sports coaches who went abroad, and that he feels Romanian sports need to bring in coaches from abroad, following the model of the rowing federation.

Tokyo Olympics 2020: Canoeist Catalin Chirila - Romania's flag bearer at Olympics closing ceremony

Canoe sprinter Catalin Chirila was selected as Romania's flag bearer for the closing ceremony of the Tokyo Olympic Games which will take place on Sunday at 14:00 hrs (Romania time), the Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee announced on Facebook. Chirila took the 5th spot in the final of the men's C2 1000m event, together with partner Victor Mihalachi.

Rowing: Silver medal for Romania, at 2019 World Rowing Championships

Romania's Men's Four (M4-) team, made up of Mihaita Vasile Tiganescu, Mugurel Vasile Semciuc, Stefan Constantin Berariu and Cosmin Pascari won the silver medal on Saturday at the 2019 World Rowing Championships in Linz Ottensheim (Austria). Poland took the silver medal, in 06 min 09 sec 860/1000, followed by Romania, 06 min 11 sec 410/1000, and the UK came in third, in 06 min 11 sec 710/1000.

Romanian Minister Falls Victim to Battle at Opera

The cabinet of Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos has recorded the third loss after Culture Minister Vlad Alexandrescu quit on Wednesday.

The Prime Minister sought Alexandrescu's resignation following an embarrassing dispute at the Bucharest National Opera, which the minister has failed to find a solution to.

Chinese company starts works at residential project in Craiova

Prime Minister Victor Ponta and Chinese Ambassador Xu Feihong attended on Tuesday the opening of a works site in Craiova, where a Chinese company builds a residential neighbourhood.
