A code yellow warning for snow and frost has been issued for six regions of the country, according to the website of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology. The warning is in place for Pleven, Lovech, Gabrovo, Veliko Tarnovo, Targovishte and Razgrad. In those regions, there will be snowfall and conditions for frost formation.

A 13-year-old girl has been beaten in a school in Gorna Oryahovitsa, ODMVR - Veliko Tarnovo announced.

Around noon on November 22, alert was received in the city government. A police team was immediately sent to the site, who found that three women aged 18, 39 and 63 and a girl of 12 years, all of Gorna Oryahovitsa, had beaten a 13-year-old schoolgirl.

Archaeologists have announced the discovery of a golden cross, thought to contain remnants of the Holy Cross of Jesus, in the medieval capital of the Bulgarian Empire.  The cross is a striking piece of religious art and is believed to be the only example of its kind in the world.  The object holds great significance for the local Orthodox Christian community.

A 3.1 magnitude earthquake is registered on the territory of Bulgaria, near Strazhitsa, BGNES reported.

The earthquake is felt at 16.19 AM with an epicenter 6 km southeast of Strazhitsa, 33 km east of Veliko Tarnovo, with a depth of 2 km, the European Seismological Center said.

Code Orange for intensive rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and possible hail is in force for 8 districts in the country on July 27, according to the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH).

The warning applies for Russe, Targovishte, Veliko Tarnovo, Gabrovo, Haskovo, Stara Zagora, Kardzhali and Smolyan.

Mehriban Aliyeva, the First Lady of Azerbaijan, is set to arrive in Bulgaria on September 22.
