Inconvenience for passengers on a flight from Nice to Mykonos, could not land due to winds – Video and photos

Dozens of passengers on a EasyJet flight from Nice, France to Mykonos are suffering great inconvenience due to the inability of the aircraft to land at its destination because of strong winds. The aircraft operating the flight, which was already delayed for an hour and a half, failed to land at Mykonos airport, resulting in a return to Athens’ Eleftherios Venizelos airport.

Suburban railway train bound for airport breaks down, passengers miss flights

A suburban railway (Proastiakos) train bound for Eleftherios Venizelos airport broke down on Monday afternoon between Doukisis Plakentias and Pallini stations. 

The train broke down shortly before 2.p.m. and remained immobilized for one and a half hours, during which passengers were stuck inside without air-conditioning, with some ending up missing their flights.

Panathinaikos team gets hero’s welcome from thousands of fans at Athens airport

Thousands of Panathinaikos fans gathered at Athens Eleftherios Venizelos airport on Monday, to greet their basketball team that won the Euroleague championship. 

The fans had gathered from early afternoon to celebrate the 7th Euroleague title of Panathinaikos, who beat Real Madrid 80-95 on Sunday's final.

The supply of four Airbus A321 neo LR from Aegean, which will allow for flights lasting up to 7.5 hours, will also help boost the connectivity of the Eleftherios Venizelos airport with new major markets, such as Asia, the managing director of Athens International Airport, Yannis Paraschisas, stated during last week's annual general meeting.
