Anglo-Hellenism was a Liberal construct, with its roots in the 19th century, but it became recognizable as such only after the Balkan Wars. Many British Liberals were impressed by Greek Prime Minister Eleftherios Venizelos at the London Conference in 1912-1913, and showed a strong desire to keep his government aligned with his British counterpart H.H. Asquith's Liberal government.

AIA lands new passenger record
Athens International Airport is posting record figures ahead of the invitation for the submission of binding offers for 30 percent of its shares.
AIA - whose official title is Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos - registered a historic record of 25.57 million passengers in 2019 - 1.4 million passengers or 6 percent more than in 2018.

American College of Greece a ‘seed that flourished’
The American College of Greece (ACG) was founded in Smyrna in 1875 and was headquartered there until the Asia Minor Disaster in 1922, after which it moved to Greece on the invitation of Prime Minister Eleftherios Venizelos and opened in Athens in 1923.

The E-Kyklos think tank is holding its third annual conference titled "Greece After III: The Restoration of the Middle Class" through Thursday, starting at 2.30 p.m. on Wednesday with a brief introductory speech by former deputy prime minister and finance minister Evangelos Venizelos.
