Portorož – This year’s Vesna Award for best feature film went to Prasica, Slabšalni Izraz za Žensko (Bitch, a Derogatory Term for a Woman), a debut by Tijana Zinajić, as the Festival of Slovenian Film wrapped up in the coastal town of Portorož on Sunday evening with the conferring of what are considered Slovenian Oscars.

Pahor, who starts his new five-year term in the office at the end of December, said that it would be important for Slovenia to do its bit as a sovereign country and as an EU and NATO member, in order to contribute to stabilisation and deal with issues internationally. One of the biggest challenges Pahor identified was the refugee issue, where he believes that the EU has failed the test.

Croatia sets aside funds for neighboring countries

ZAGREB -- Croatia has decided to send humanitarian aid worth EUR 100,000 to Serbia and Bosnia each, and thus help the neighboring countries cope with the floods.

Foreign Minister Vesna Pusić explained that her ministry has a sum allocated each year for humanitarian aid to those affected by disasters abroad.
