Ultra marathoners take on challenge in scenic Vipava Valley
More than 1,800 extreme sport enthusiasts will travel to the Vipava Valley to take on one of the biggest ultra marathon challenges in the country from 4 to 7 May. The toughest runners will choose the 170-kilometre Emperor route.
Ultra runners from 36 countries to flock to Vipava Valley
Vipava – After a two-year break due to Covid, the Vipava Valley Ultra-Trail race will be back in Slovenia’s picturesque wine growing region this weekend to feature a record number of runners. A total of 1,300 participants from 36 countries have registered for the event, including from as far as Singapore, Peru, Canada and Australia.
New basic training concept for military service
Ljubljana – Slovenia has a new concept of basic training for the Slovenian Armed Forces, designed as a single entry point for those interested in either voluntary or professional service. The wish is to attract new recruits by offering perks such as basic pay. Everyone under 30 is eligible for voluntary service.
