“Return before 17 January” – The letter sent by US universities to travelling students
The assumption of the presidency of the US by Donald Trump on January 20 has put the academic communities on the other side of the Atlantic, among others, on alert. University administrations are concerned about the immigration policy that the newly elected president will pursue and are therefore advising students who have travelled outside the US for the holidays to return by 17 January.
Visa-free travel to China
Citizens of Greece and three other EU countries will enjoy visa-free travel to China starting October 15.
This is a pilot program lasting until December 31, 2025, and applies to visits of two weeks maximum, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced Monday.
Visa-free travel is also available to citizens of Cyprus, Portugal and Slovenia.

Turkey lifts visa for Polish nationals
Turkey has lifted the visa requirement for Polish tourists and transit passengers through a decree published in the Official Gazette on April 19.
The decree signed by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stipulates visa-free entry for the Polish nationals on their touristic trips to Turkey and transit pass through the country.

At about 7 p.m Bulgarian time everyone who applied for an American green card will be able to check her/his status on the website of Electronic Diversity Visa Lottery.
Entrants should keep their confirmation number because without it will be impossible to see if they won the lottery.

US tightens visa waiver program amid foreign fighters concerns
The United States announced tighter security measures on August 6 for visitors from the 38 countries in its visa waiver program, which include European nations that have seen hundreds of residents traveling to fight with militant groups in Syria and Iraq.

Prime Minister Victor Ponta on Wednesday, in the context of the relaxation of the visa regime for Canada starting 2016 said that he is positive that progress will be made, too, concerning the visa regime with the United States of America, after the U.S. elections next year.

PM Ponta: Canada relaxes visa regime for Romanians from 2016
The Romanian citizens who have held a Canadian visa in the last ten years or who hold a U.S. non-immigrant visa will no longer need to apply for a Canadian visa, shows a letter sent by Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper to his counterpart Victor Ponta.
