Vivacom Launches 4G Voice Service and Wi-Fi Calling in Bulgaria

Vivacom is extending its contract with Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC) to deploy 4G Voice service and Wi-Fi calling. With the pre-integrated Fast VoLTE Launch solution, the service's deployment time has been significantly reduced. The agreement builds on Vivacom's existing Ericsson Evolved Packet Core network and adds virtual IP Multimedia Subsystem (vIMS).

Greeks love landlines, not very keen on email

Greeks are top-of-the-table in the European Union in their use of landline telephony, but languish at the bottom of the chart in their use of email and instant messaging. 

They are also trailing when it comes to use of internet telephony, and despite the expansion of applications such as Skype and FaceTime, very few Greeks use video-telephony as a means of communication.

Saudi Arabia Lifts the Ban on Video and Voice Calls

The Saudi government lifted the ban on calls made through online applications but will continue to monitor and censor them, a government spokesman said on Thursday.

All online voice and video calls - such as Skype, WhatsApp, Messenger on Facebook and Viber  - that meet the regulatory requirements, are available today.
