President Plevneliev Begins Consultations with Parties Friday
Bulgaria's President Rosen Plevneliev is to hold consultations with the left-wing ABV and ultra-nationalist Ataka on Friday.
Under Bulgaria's Constitution, presidential consultations with all parliamentary parties are a prerequisite for handing to a Prime Minister candidate from the biggest party the mandate to form a government.
Bulgaria's Chief Prosecutor to Request Immunity of 7 MPs, 1 MEP
Chief Prosecutor Sotir Tsatsarov is to submit early in November demands that seven lawmakers who were sworn in this week be stripped of immunity.
Tsatsarov added Thursday he would also request the immunity of a MEP, the Bulgarian daily Sega reports.
The Chief prosecutors stopped short of giving names, provoking much speculation as to who the lawmakers are.
PES Leader Stanishev Wants his MEP’s Immunity Lifted ASAP
Sergey Stanishev, leader of the Party of European Socialists (PES), has said he will insist that he be stripped of his immunity from prosecution on the basis of his status as an MEP as soon as possible.
Stanishev stated his opinion on Facebook in response to an earlier announcement by Chief Prosecutor Sotir Tsatsarov that he would demand his MEP's immunity.

The new National Assembly is to hold its opening session on October 27, at 14:00 EEST, Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev announced.

Bulgarian Parliament Fails to Defeat President's Competition Act Veto
Lawmakers upheld a veto on amendments to the Competition Protection Act imposed by Bulgaria's President Rosen Plevneliev.
Friday's vote was the first time the current Parliament did not reject a presidential veto, with a total of nine motions (including the successful one) having been issued in just over a year.

Bulgarian Parliament Elections to be Held September 28 – October 12
The early elections in Bulgaria will take place on one of three dates (September 28, October 5, October 12), President Rosen Plevneliev revealed.
Following nearly 4 hours of discussions at the Consultative Council on National Security, the President said that the political leaders had agreed on these possible dates, excluding the option of September 21.
