Zelensky says counteroffensive against Russia underway
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that a counteroffensive against Russian forces was underway, while declining to give specifics on his troops' operations.

According to a post on that social network, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was visiting the Kherson region, which was hit by a flood wave after the Kakhovka dam was blown up yesterday, June 8.
A video of his visits to that region, from which thousands of people were evacuated, was also published.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Russia of destroying the Nova Kakhovka dam, which had disastrous consequences in the Kherson region.
"The destruction of one of the largest water reservoirs in Ukraine was certainly intentional. Hundreds of thousands of people were left without access to drinking water," he said.

European leaders meet Thursday at a summit held on one of the most vulnerable points on the continent's strategic frontline, in a show of diplomatic force designed to pressure Moscow.
