Dačić "highly likely to join new government"

BELGRADE -- SPS Vice President Slavica Đukić-Dejanović said on Tuesday that it was "highly likely" that Ivica Dačić will become a member of Serbia's new government.

Dačić is the leader of the Socialists (SPS) and serves prime minister and interior minister in the now caretaker cabinet.

BELGRADE - Serbia's First Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said on Tuesday in talks with David Petraeus, chairman of the Global Institute of the KKR investment firm, that Serbia is open to new investments, adding that the country will ensure an environment that would be even more conducive to business.

Hungarian party to have state secretaries

SUBOTICA -- Leader of the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians (SVM) Istvan Pastor stated on Tuesday that SVM will have state secretaries in the new Serbian government.

According to him, they will be in charge of infrastructure, agriculture, economy, social policy and healthcare.

BELGRADE - The new convocation of the Serbian parliament, whose constitution will start on Wednesday, will include presidents of 12 parties from seven slates who will take an oath of office.

BELGRADE - The Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) Presidency has decided to form the government coalition with the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians (SVM) and it left it to SNS leader Aleksandar Vucic to continue the talks with other parties on potential expansion of the ruling coalition, and the government should be appointed by April 27.

SNS holds another meeting on cabinet

BELGRADE -- SNS leader Aleksandar Vučić will on Tuesday propose his future cabinet's members, and its "concept" to a meeting of the party's main board.

He will first address the session, after which it will be closed to the public.

BELGRADE -- The presidency of the Serb Progressive Party (SNS) will meet on Monday afternoon in Belgrade to discuss the formation of Serbia's new government.

After this session, more details are expected to be known about the composition of the new cabinet.

SREMSKA KAMENICA - Leader of the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) Ivica Dacic expects that over the weekend he will meet leader of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) Aleksandar Vucic to discuss in detail a government program and candidates for ministerial posts.
