Russian troops have made significant advances in Vuhledar, a strategic city in Donetsk Oblast. Video footage circulating online shows Russian soldiers waving flags from atop destroyed buildings, which Reuters has confirmed matches the layout of Vuhledar.

Russian forces have reportedly partially encircled the town of Vuhledar in the Donetsk region, according to Colonel Vladyslav Seleznyov, former head of the press service of Ukraine's Armed Forces General Staff. He told Kyiv Post that Russian troops have moved into areas with multi-story buildings, and he predicts the town could fall within days.

Russia has announced that it is tightening its encirclement of Ukrainian forces in the town of Vuhledar (Ugledar) in the Donetsk region. According to the Russian news agency TASS, Ukrainian troops in Vuhledar find themselves in a semicircle, with the town being shelled from multiple directions.
