Paul Newman’s Rolexes in auction by Sotheby’s
Two Rolexes that carried "sentimental" value for actor Paul Newman will be auctioned as part of a broad collection of the late icon's personal effects, with the timepieces each expected to earn up to $1 million.
Sotheby's said last month that more than 300 items owned by the movie star and car racer Newman and his wife of 50 years Joanne Woodward would go under the hammer on June 9.

‘Mechanical watch can function for 500 years’
A mechanical watch can last 500 years, but a digital watch can last only 10 to 15 years, says a watchmaker who has been in the profession for the last 52 years.
Nezihi Arıcı repairs mechanical watches, from antique watches dating back to the 1800s to pocket watches of the most famous brands of the period, in his shop in Istanbul's Kadıköy district.

Watchmaker repairs 16th-century vintage watches, clocks in Yozgat
Yalçın Meral, an antique watch enthusiast in the central Anatolian province of Yozgat, reproduces and repairs the missing or damaged pieces of antique pocket watches designed by British and French watchmakers during the 16th-century Ottoman period.
Meral works for weeks or even months to hear the "tick-tock" sound from antique watches, which are over 4 centuries old.
