Turkish team becomes world champion in robot competition in China

A team of young Turkish students has become world champion in a robot competition in China's Beijing with a mind-controlled wheelchair they made.

The team, formed of students from the Mediterranean province of Antalya, took part in the competition with a project sponsored by the Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ATSO).     

Elektrobus Connects the Two Terminals of Sofia Airport

An electric bus will carry passengers between the two terminals of the metropolitan airport today. This was announced on Monday at Sofia Airport. The electric bus replaces the diesel transport and remains free for travelers. The electrics do not emit carbon dioxide, and their use will result in a significant reduction in maintenance costs. The electric bus is for 65 passengers.

Beaches on the Black Sea coast become more and more inaccessible for people with disabilities, reported bTV. That is why they are forced  to watch the sea from a distance.

A 100-meter-long wooden walkway to allow wheelchair access costs about USD 2,000.

The Ministry of Tourism has explained that they advise tenants to put such facilities, but can not oblige them.

Notary fined for demanding 'stair fee' from Turkish Paralympic athlete

A notary who forced a Turkish Paralympic athlete to pay an extra fee because the notary descended 25 steps to bring documents to the woman, who was unable to climb the stairs because she is confined to a wheelchair, has been fined 15,000 Turkish Liras as part of an administrative sanction, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported. 
  

Trianon's wheelchair lift a first for Athens cinemas

The historic Trianon cinema, near the Victoria ISAP railway station in central Athens, has announced that it has installed a wheelchair lift for the disabled.

It is reportedly the first cinema in the Greek capital to do so.

The movie theater also announced that tickets for disabled cinema-goers now cost 4 euros, which includes entry for caregivers.

Awareness event aiming to highlight the problems of people with disabilities

Athens municipality in collaboration with the Association of Social Responsibility for Children and Adolescents organized on Saturday a simulation action for people with disabilities.

At least 30 people including the well known, popular actor and councilman Antonis Kafetzopoulos appeared in Syntagma square in wheelchairs.
