The Bulgarian National Bank will put a new 10 Leva banknote into circulation on June 12, 2020. The overall design of the banknote will not be subject to any significant changes as compared to the 10 Leva banknotes which are already in circulation.

BNB launches new BGN 50 banknote with modern protection. It will come into circulation from November 1. The banknote has new protections, images and is made of high quality paper, tinted in pale green with lacquered finish.

Police have prevented a forgery racket from dumping an estimated 1.8 million euros of bogus banknotes into circulation after raids in the western port of Patra and central Athens.

It will be valid along with the old one, which was issued back in 2003. The Bulgarian National Bank reported that the release of the new series is necessary for raising security.

Bulgarian police busted fake money printing factory for US dollars in Varna, reported bTV. 

Policemen detained three people who have been charged, the Interior Ministry said.

A total of about $ 1,350,000 have been seized from the printing factory, some of them were not even finished. 

A burglar who broke into a supermarket and stole only coins has puzzled some locals in the eastern province of Sivas, who wondered why he did not even touch the banknotes and valuable items around.
