Türkiye’s Zeynep Sönmez storms to first WTA title of career
Zeynep Sönmez of Türkiye roared past American Ann Li 6-2, 6-1 on Nov. 3 to capture the first WTA title of her career in Merida, Mexico.
Sönmez, 22, became the first Turkish player to lift a WTA trophy since Çağla Büyükakçay won in Istanbul in 2016 to become the first champion from the country.
Serbia's Olga Danilovic wins Guangzhou WTA tournament
GUANGZHOU - Serbian tennis player Olga Danilovic has won the Guanzhou WTA tournament in China by beating American Caroline Dolehide 6-3, 6-1 in the final on Sunday.
Danilovic, who has lifted her second WTA trophy, climbed to a career-highest 52nd place in the WTA ratings on Monday.
The prize money at Guangzhou is 267,082 dollars.
Bulgaria's Tomova Secures Spot in Round of 16 at Seoul UTA 500
Bulgaria's Viktoriya Tomova advanced to the round of 16 at the Seoul UTA 500 tennis tournament, with money prize of 922,572 dollars, after defeating Germany's Tatjana Maria with scores of 6-2, 1-6, 6-0 in the first round. This victory marks Tomova's third consecutive win over Maria.

Djokovic reclaims ATP rankings top spot
BELGRADE - Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic is back in the number one spot of the ATP rankings.
He took over from Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, who has failed to defend his title at the Miami Masters.
Djokovic was forced to miss the tournament.
The Serbian tops the rankings with 7,160 points and Alcaraz is in second place with 6,780 points.

Portorož hosting WTA 250 tournament
Portorož – The Slovenian seaside resort of Portorož is hosting the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) circuit this week for a WTA 250 tournament with a prize money of 235,238 US dollars.
The tournament will open with a ceremony later on Monday followed by an all-Croatian match between Donna Vekić and Ana Konjuh.
