Large multinational hotel chains are increasing their activity in Greece. The low penetration compared to the country's hotel potential, which is far below that of other tourism destinations such as Spain or Italy, combined with the excellent prospects of tourism, are motivating the largest groups.

Currently having a strong presence with 13 hotels in Athens, Thessaloniki, and leading destinations across the country, the world’s largest hotel franchisor is preparing for three new additions to its portfolio in the Greek market from 2025 onwards, further strengthening its position.

Investors who put their money into Athens hotels surely deserve the title of hero. Wyndham Grand Athens, the first Wyndham Hotel Group hotel in Greece, is set to open on Karaiskaki Square, in central Athens, on December 1. The 5-star hotel will have 273 rooms, conference halls, a gym, a spa, a restaurant, and a 450 sq. m. roof-garden with a pool and a 360 degree view of the Athens skyline. The hotel wants to inspire guests from all around the world to visit Athens.

The Wyndham Hotel Group has reportedly signed a deal for the long-term lease of a hotel located on Karaiskaki Square in central Athens, sources said. According to the sources, the US hotel chain aims to operate the establishment by early 2017.
