Ljubljana – The SNG Opera and Ballet Ljubljana, a leading national opera and ballet theatre, has produced a diverse 2021/2022 season headlined Long Live Opera and Ballet, the opera’s artistic director Marko Hribernik says. It brings music by Russian greats Stravinsky and Tchaikovsky, Italian composers Donizetti and Bellini and France’s Gounod.

Italian choreographer and artistic director Renato Zanella directs the Greek National Opera Ballet in a children's version of Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker," with fairy-tale sets by Christof Cremer from the Vienna State Opera. Shows take place weekdays at 11 a.m. and Saturdays at 6.30 p.m. on February 3, 8, 10 and 11, at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC).

The International Festival of the Aegean comes to a close at Ermoupoli's Apollo Theater this weekend with two performances by the Ballet of the National Opera of Bucharest on Saturday and Sunday, July 29-30.
