An explosion occurred at a metro station in Brussels following two blasts in Belgian capital’s airport, killing at least 10 people according to local police, as cited by TASS.

Brussels shuts down trams, metros and buses following the explosions at airport and metro station.

The explosion heard at Maalbeek Metro Station in central Brussels which is situated near EU buildings.

Turkish Airlines plane diverted to Liege after Brussels explosion

A Turkish Airlines plane flying from Istanbul to Brussels was diverted to Liege Airport after twin explosions at Brussel Airport on March 22 killed at least one person.

Turkish Airlines flight TK 1937 had taken off from Istanbul at 8:24 a.m.

Turkish Airlines flight TK 1943, which was scheduled to depart at 11:50 a.m. from Istanbul to Brussels, was also canceled.

Two explosions heard at Brussels airport before 8am local time with passengers evacuating the terminal.

An hour later, explosions hit Maalbeek metro station, close to the EU institutions, while the metro system and airport have both been closed.
