World-Renowned Violinist Midori to Play with Sofia Philharmonic
A Grammy-winner and a favourite of legendary conductor Zubin Mehta, the world-renowned violinist Midori is set to give a concert with the Sofia Philharmonic on 13 June. Under the baton of Maestro Nayden Todorov, she will perform Sergei Prokofiev's Violin Concerto No. 1.
Belgrade Philharmonic Promises 'Largest-Ever' Open-Air Concert
Headed by new chief conductor Gabriel Feltz, the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra is hoping to draw tens of thousands of people at an open-air concert featuring classical compositions selected by the public in an online vote.
The event will be held on Sunday, June 25 near the Palace of Serbia building in New Belgrade. Entrance is free of charge.

The Athens Concert Hall is hosting the renowned Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and its legendary maestro, Zubin Mehta, on Saturday, September 17, and Sunday, September 18. The ensemble will perform Tchaikovsky, Schumann and Schubert on September 17, with cellist Marcel Bergman and horn soloists James Madison Cox, Yoel Abadi, Michael Slatkin and Itamar Leshem.
PM meets with Mehta, announces "large concert hall"
Serbian PM Aleksandar Vucic attended on Sunday a rehearsal of the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Zubin Mehta ahead of a gala concert.
On the occasion, he "announced that a large concert hall will be built in Belgrade," Tanjug reported.
