A mortar shell thought to be around 70 years old was found in the garden of the German Consulate residence in Istanbul on Nov. 21, Turkey's state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.
A suspected metal object was found during cleaning works at the garden of the summer residence of the German Consulate in Istanbul's Sarıyer district.

A German school operating under the German consulate in Istanbul will be closed on March 21 during the annual Nevruz celebrations due to security concerns after the deadly Istanbul suicide bomb attack on March 19.
According to German media, the decision to send children to nurseries or schools was left to parents until the Easter holiday, which will begin on March 25.
