Turkish immigration sees decline in 2022: TÜİK report
The number of people who immigrated to Türkiye from foreign countries experienced a decline of 33.2 percent in 2022 compared to the previous year, totaling 494,052 individuals, as reported by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK).

Türkiye, with a population of 84.68 million, ranks 18th among 195 countries in terms of population size as it constitutes 1.1 percent of the world's total population, the U.N. reported on July 11, World Population Day.
Child population in Turkey continues to shrink
Children accounted for 26.9 percent of Turkey's entire population in 2021, this is down from 27.2 percent in the previous year, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) has said, projecting that the downward trend will continue in the decades to come.

Turkey hosts nearly 43 mln foreign tourists by year-end 2019
The number of foreigners visiting Turkey jumped 14.3 percent on a yearly basis between January and November, data from the Culture and Tourism Ministry have shown.
Over the past 11 months, a total of 42.9 million foreign holidaymakers entered the country, the ministry said on Dec. 30.

Cyprus records highest electricity price increase in EU
According to data released Tuesday by Eurostat the highest increase in household electricity prices between the second half of 2017 and the second half of 2018 was registered in Cyprus.
The price of electricity on the island spiked by 19.6 percent.

In the last three months of 2018 house prices in Bulgaria rose by 5.5 percent on an annual basis, according to European Statistical Office data published today. This is the slowest pace since the first quarter of 2016 when the reported growth was 4.6 percent.
