Türkan Elçi

Several famous personalities, including a football player and a former Miss Türkiye, will serve in the 28th term of the Turkish parliament.

Former footballer and manager Ünal Karaman, who also worked as a caretaker manager for the Türkiye's national football team in 2004, entered the new parliament from the İYİ (Good) Party list in the Central Anatolian Province of Konya.

Tahir Elçi, the Diyarbakır Bar Association head who was killed in an armed clash in November 2015 in Diyarbakır, was remembered on the anniversary of his murder in Istanbul and the southeastern province of Diyarbakır.

A Doğan Holding initiative, the "Shared Values Movement," which aims to create a dialogue environment where various segments of Turkish society can express their belief in common values, has released a new series of interviews with notable public figures in the country such as Türkan Elçi, İpek Çalışlar and Ali Çarkoğlu. 

The murder of Tahir Elçi, the head of the Diyarbak?r Bar Association, must be enlightened, the leader of the main opposition party has said, vowing they will closely follow the investigation. 

A damaged cartridge that might be from the bullet that killed Diyarbak?r Bar Association head Tahir Elçi on Nov. 28 has been found at the scene of the murder, Justice Minister Bekir Bozda? said Dec. 1. 

A newspaper that is the disgrace of society's Islamic segment reported the killing of Diyarbak?r Bar Association head Tahir Elçi with these words: 

"You were saying that the PKK was not a terror organization - Here's terror for you."
