ATHEX: Bourse index advances to 11-week high

The benchmark of the Greek bourse has risen to highs unseen since September 26 after notching up fresh gains on Friday. Industrial and energy stocks drove the market higher on a day of gains for the vast majority of stocks, albeit with the lowest turnover of the last 12 sessions. Sunday's government announcements in Parliament will largely shape next week's trading landscape.

Ministry revises plan for merging water companies

The Environment Ministry has scaled back its plan to merge municipal water and sewerage companies (DEYAs) on the islands, following opposition from local governments.

According to a draft bill set to be released for public consultation, the existing DEYAs and municipal water services in the islands of the Cyclades, the Dodecanese and the Northern Aegean will remain unchanged.

The hour of reckoning in the US, oligarchs applying pressure and making demands, the cabinet reshuffle and Schinas, the tax troubles of Kasselakis’ father with the IRS

ATHEX: National Bank dominates stock trading

National Bank remains the focus of attention for traders at the Greek stock market, with 62% of Monday's bourse session turnover concerning the lender's stock. The rest of the market did not show any particular buying activity, and only Coca-Cola HBC helped with its large capitalization containing the decline of the benchmark on the day.

ATHEX: Third day of gains for benchmark

Stocks grew at Athinon Avenue on Tuesday for a third day in a row, with the benchmark closing on the day's high, as did the banks' index. It was once again the closing auctions that significantly improved the picture on the stock board, and they were responsible for the increased turnover, too. The market is now focusing on the interest rates verdict of the US Fed on Wednesday.

Water Crisis: Only Kremasta Lake Can Save Attica from Drought

Amidst growing concerns about water scarcity, the Greek government has devised a five-pillar plan aimed at addressing this critical issue. The most ambitious of these plans involves transferring water from the artificial Kremasta Lake by connecting it to the Evinos and Mornos reservoirs, which supply the Attica region.
