Inclined towers

A historical clock tower in Antalya, one of the landmarks of the touristic Mediterranean province, will return to its original state after undergoing restoration.

The 14-meter-high clock tower, located in the province's world-famous historical oldtown, carries the traces of the Roman, Seljuk, Ottoman and Republican eras.

Four buildings built 30 years ago in the Black Sea province of Rize have stirred fear among locals after they began leaning downwards due to unstable foundation, with many residents likening it to the "Leaning Tower of Pisa" in Italy.

People living in the apartments in the buildings tried to strengthen the leaning structures with iron poles.

One of London's iconic landmarks, the clock tower Big Ben, marks its 160th anniversary in silence. The reason is that the facility is under repair, according to bTV.

The 13.5 ton Great Bell was cast in the Whitechapel Foundry and first rang out in the capital on July 11 1859.

The Leaning Tower of Pisa is known worldwide for its precarious tilt - but now experts have revealed it's going straight, reported BBC. 

The tower's Surveillance Group, which monitors restoration work, said the landmark is "stable and very slowly reducing its lean."

My favorite metaphor about Italy is that the country resembles the Torre di Pisa. It is a beautiful historical building that for centuries has looked like it was about to fall. But it still stands.
