22 died in road accidents in January
Twenty-two people lost their lives and 578 were injured (13 seriously) in 517 road accidents involving cars, motorcycles and pedestrians in January in Attica, according to the Attica Traffic Police Directorate.

Drivers in Turkey involved in high number of accidents given special training
Some 200 out of 10,000 drivers involved in a higher than average number of traffic accidents last year have been identified and are undergoing a special training program.

Some 25,000 motorcyclists have been injured in traffic accidents in Serbia over the past ten years, while about 1,000 have died, says Vladimir Jevtic.
Jevtic is the president of the Association for Safety of Motorcyclists.
Traffic accidents down in March
Traffic accidents in the month of March decreased by 13.1 percent compared to the same period last year, according to data from the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT), but the number of the people that died on the streets of the country rose by 18.8 percent.

Lebanese-American reporter’s camerawoman ‘sole culprit’ in car crash case
An official report has concluded that a camerawoman driving the car in which a Lebanese-American journalist was killed in southeastern Turkey on Oct. 19 was the sole culprit in the accident.
Woman killed in horrific road accident near Thessaloniki
A 42-year-old woman was killed early on Tuesday in a horrific accident on Thessaloniki's ring road.
According to sources, the woman tried to cross the road at around 5.30 a.m. near Eptapyrgio where a car had been waiting to take her to work.
She was hit by a passing vehicle in a collision so intense that parts of her body were scattered across the scene.
Data show rise in traffic accidents but fall in deaths in June
Road accidents in the month of June went up by 4 percent compared to the same period last year, data from the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) showed on Friday.
The same data, however, showed a drop in the number of people who died on the countrys roads over that period.
Motorcycle Police to Enforce Traffic Regulations on BG Roads
As of beginning of August Bulgaria's Interior Ministry deploys motorcycle police with speed radars along the country's roads, reports the BNT public broadcaster.
The reason is the increase in heavy traffic accidents – 3600 since the beginning of the year, with 358 victims, which are 50 more deaths, compared to the same period of last year.
Government forms traffic safety team
BELGRADE - The Serbian government has formed a team for coordination of road safety tasked with improving traffic safety and reducing the number of accidents.
