Athens’ new answer to a water supply crunch: An ancient aqueduct

ATHENS - After climate change brought another year of record-breaking heat and dwindling rainfall to Greece, the reservoirs that supply water to Athens have dropped to their lowest levels in over a decade. Farmers are struggling to produce crops, wildfires have increased the demand for water and priests are conducting prayers for rain.

Larissa revamp to connect 16 monuments, landmarks

Authorities in Larissa, Central Greece, are launching an ambitious urban regeneration project on Monday that is centered around an initiative to connect 16 historical monuments and landmarks across the city center.

The start of the project will mean road closures across the downtown area for the duration, which will take at least two months.

Archaeologists have discovered a Roman bath dated back to the 4th century in the Bulgarian city of Plovdiv.

The bathroom is a complex on a several acres with marble floor and a swimming pool. Currently the builders gave the archaeologists the place and a team led by Maya Martinova discovers the remains which are remarkably saved, according to BGNES wire service.
