Concert venue under fire
The mayor of Kallithea and representatives of local residents in southern Athens have appealed to the prosecutor of the Athens Court of First Instance, requesting the adoption of measures "to restore legality and stop disturbing the common peace of citizens" at Plateia Nerou (Water Square), which serves as a regular venue for concerts.

People vs live music clamor
High-volume noise from music concerts has residents of two seaside Athens suburbs up in arms.
Plateia Nerou (Water Square), an open space next to the arena used for the tae kwon do competition in the 2004 Athens Olympics, has often been used for concerts, prompting residents of the suburbs of Kallithea and Palaio Faliro to shut their windows to spare themselves the aural blast.

Municipalities clash with regional authority over Faliro Bay project

As part of the First Mediterranean Festival of the Municipality of Kallithea in southern Athens, a local production of Georges Bizet's "Carmen" will go on stage at the Municipal Stadium Friday through Sunday and on Wednesday, September 14, starting at 9 p.m. The cast is led by Marita Paparizou, Margarita Syngeniotou, Christos Delizonas and Sotiris Triantis.
