Albanian opposition supporters block the capital’s streets in an anti-government rally

Albanian opposition lawmakers and their supporters blocked the capital's main streets for hours Tuesday accusing the government of corruption and demanding it be replaced by a technocratic caretaker Cabinet until 2025 parliamentary elections.

Woman Tried to Break Into the Bulgarian Presidency Building

A 61-year-old woman tried to break into the Presidency building, the Ministry of Interior announced. The incident was reported around 9.30 this morning.

After the intervention of police officers, she was taken out of the territory of the Presidency. The woman was subsequently placed in a mental health center in the capital.

Banking and other sectors of the economy across India have suffered damage as millions of workers strike in protest against the economic policies of the Hindu nationalist government, especially against the planned sale of several state-owned companies, including Air India.

Municipal workers storm finance ministry during rally

Members of the POE-OTA municipal workers union barged into the finance ministry on Thursday, during a protest rally in central Athens.
Protesters reached the fourth floor and requested a meeting with a ministry official.
The union is holding a 24-hour strike to oppose government plans to slash a benefit paid to those working in hazardous jobs.
