The data on the cycle of violence wrought by juvenile gangs is shocking and rings an alarm bell for us all.
The investigative journalism piece published in Ta Nea today records 25 gangs all over Attica.
According to Greek Police data, between January and August of this year, 208 minors were beaten up and 211 were robbed by members of other gangs.

Greece’s death toll from coronavirus rises to 120 after 101-year-old patient dies
The death of a 101-year-old woman at Sotiria Hospital in Athens took Greece's coronavirus toll to 120 on Tuesday afternoon.
The woman, who had been suffering from underlying health issues when she was hospitalized with Covid-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus, had been admitted to hospital from a nursing home in Nea Makri east of the capital.
Kathimerini's Aristotelia Peloni appointed alternate gov't spokesperson
Kathimerini's political correspondent Aristotelia Peloni has been appointed alternate government spokesperson.
The appointed was made public on Monday following a decision by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
Having started her career in journalism at Ta Nea in 1998, Peloni joined Kathimerini in 2016, covering New Democracy, and wrote the daily column Conclavios.
Police smash large drugs racket in Athens
A large drug cartel operating primarily in the Athens suburbs of Acharnes and Fyli has been unraveled by Attica police authorities.
Police said the cartel consisted of seven gangs that worked under the guidance of two criminal organizations.

Moderate quake strikes sea area northeast of Athens
A moderate earthquake measuring 3.8 on the Richter scale struck off the northeastern coast of Attica on Wednesday morning.
The epicenter of the 11.13 a.m. tremor was located 8 kilometers east of the seaside town of Nea Makri and at a depth of 5 kilometers.
One injured, two detained after shooting incident in Halkidiki
One man was injured in the hand during a shooting incident in the area of Nea Moudania in northern region of Halkidiki, according to state-run news agency ANA-MPA on Thursday.
The 29-year-old man was hospitalised for treatment following a brawl with four other individuals, which is attributed to personal differences, the report said.
